Playing for Peace 2019

By September 30, 2019Uncategorized

Dear OWLS Community,

The 8th Annual “Playing for Peace” will be held on the morning of Sunday, October 6th at McKinley Park 2210 W Pershing Rd, Chicago, IL 60609.

This initiative has come a long way in the past eight years. What started as a very small profile get together with our flagship site St. Malachy School and Notre Dame Men’s Lacrosse, has grown into a multi-school 100+ participant event. This year we will be featuring our incredible partnerships with the Chicago Park District, Chicago Blackhawks, Union League Boys and Girls Club, and Northwestern Women’s Lacrosse. While we have seen terrific growth and interest in our annual event, the main act has always been, and will continue to be our incredible students. They are the lifeblood for this event, and the reason for its success.

So much of Playing for Peace isn’t about the lacrosse game we all play, but rather the close-knit, supportive, and compassionate community surrounding it. In addition to the lacrosse clinic component, students will be participating in a floor hockey station led by the Hawks Fan Development team, and a park cleanup service project coordinated by our friends at the Park District.

We want you to see our programs in action! To kickoff the event, we would like to host YOU for a VIP Breakfast with some of Chicago’s most active community members and lacrosse’s most influential leaders. Please register below for the VIP Breakfast which will include a suggested donation of $10 at the door. Hope to see you there!
